U pravilu nije bahata. Posjeduje osobnost koja privlači poput magneta. Lako ju je voljeti.
- Spontanost

Manic pixie dream girl vs.femme fatale! - part 1
Since "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year it would be nice to remember the manic pixie dream girl, as a character who Kate Winslet embodied so wonderfully in the form of Clementine Kruczynski (even though she is originally not considered a manic pixe girl). Also it would be good to ask ourselves, why there is not more of such film characters and aren't these characters still a better role model than fatal, perfect women that doesn't exist?
If I say: "Female characters in movies are stereotyped, objectified and hipersexualised, and as such extremely bad example and a role model!", I will sound like another pissed off feminists that just throwed another empty phrase about gender inequality. Being just another pissed off feminist who uses empty phrases, makes you think that I talk about common sense things about which is actually unnecessary and superfluous to speak. Talk about real role models that women should watch on TV and movie screens, seems almost unreal because it is so irrelevant. But I'll tell you what is quite real and quite relevant. It's quite real and quite relevant every time when I count my bites, when I hate my reflection in the mirror, when I am not enough ... something, but that girl who is different and I never pretty, smart and ambitious enough as the femme fatale on television screen or the silver screen . And this reality is not only my reality, but the reality of women around the world who have grown up and are still growing up on some distorted perception of women who do not exist, and women they teach us that we should be. While doing so we don't realize that the ingestion of information that we are provided with through TV or a movie screen without any reflection or willingness to questioning, is a practice that is very detrimental to our self-respect, self-esteem, and finally our happiness. So this text is devoted to a different film heroine, one that is not common as femme fatale. Movie character I'm talking about is the opposite of that fatal, unattainable woman with from the television screen or the silver screen. Ladies, her name is manic pixie girl. She is free, fucked up and adorable just the way she is.
Kate Winslet as Clementine Kruczynski in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" was exactly such a woman, free, unorganized and crazy. And although Clemetine, in my opinion completely unjustified, is not a prototype of a manic pixie girl, her personality definitely reminds us of all such film girls before and after. By the 2005. we didn't exactly know how to call this female character until film critic Nathan Rabin coined the term manic - pixie -dream -girl, meaning incredibly beautiful, nonchalant, unattached, and unaffected girl. She primarily exists to help men achieve their potential, hunger for life, the ability to grow up and who knows what else. Rabin gave this expression in response to a Kirsten Dunst's character in "Elizabethtown". He described this character like this: "No existential quandary is so great that it can't be solved by the perfect combination of pop song and dream girl, a world of giddy pop epiphanies and gentle humanism unencumbered by protective irony or sneering cynicism."
There are several characteristics that differ manic pixie dream girl character from femme fatale character:
1. View on life
For manic pixie dream girl life is interesting and unique miracle. She lives each day as if it is her last and always lives in the moment and for the moment. She is everything but the ordinary girl on the street. As such, she is a ray of sunshine in vain, dull and gray life of lost male character.
2. Relation with people (and in fact all living beings)
She is friendly, nice, open-minded and seductive. Generally she is not arrogant. She has a personality that attracts like a magnet. She is easy to love.
3. Spontaneity
Spontaneity is especially important when you're a manic pixie girl. Whether manifested in sharing spontaneous hugs, singing random songs or going to the unplanned adventures, she never does anything with a specific intent, predmeditation and planning. "Just let things happen!" is her favorite motto, the same as : "If you want to do it, do it regardless of the consequences"
4. Lack of shame
Manic pixie dream girl doesn't get easily embarrassed, she is bold and she is not bothered by what people think. She knows that people will judge you anyway, if you're different from them, so accordingly she doesn't give a damn what others think. As long as she's happy with what she does, she will live like that, and her happiness is the only thing that matters.
5. Mysteriousness, mystery, unpredictability
Manic pixie dream girl is simply irresistible in her uniqueness / diversity, so irresistible that you simply need to know more about her. People generally can not fully understand her, but that's the whole fun.
